Trackless Vehicles Ltd. began operations in 1969 with development of a 4 wheel drive, articulated all terrain vehicle named the Lobo. In 1973 the vehicle was completely re-designed to incorporate a forward mounted cab, 4 cylinder water cooled engine and a front pto. The new tractor, labeled the MT2 (municipal tractor, series 2) was a totally new concept for municipal sidewalk snow removal due to it's ability to interchange front mounted attachments. A public works department could plow snow with the option of switching to a 51 inch wide snowblower when the snow became too deep for plowing. When the winter season was over the unit could then be utilized with a variety of front mounted mowers and sweepers. |
