GSA Releases FY08 Budget

The fiscal year 2008 budget requested by the President includes $20.1 billion
for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). All but $561 million is
funded through revolving fund revenues for the purchase of goods and services,
rent paid for space in GSA-owned and leased buildings, and other customer reimbursements.
GSA manages 8,300 government-owned and leased buildings, which house more than
one million federal workers. The 2008 budget includes $804 million to modernize
the agency's real property portfolio.
The budget request reflects $615 million in new obligational authority that
will provide funding for critical facility projects for the Department of Homeland
Security (DHS), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Judiciary as
well as, Ports of Entry along the nation's borders.
