State and Local AV Spending to Increase

The International Communications Industries Association, Inc. (ICIA) estimates that spending by state and local governments in the U.S. for audiovisual (AV) systems is $1.2 billion annually and is projected to grow as much as 12 percent each year for the next three years as governments increase spending on flat panel displays, projectors, videoconferencing products and AV recording devices for education, public safety, emergency services, homeland security and IT initiatives.

Wildlife Refuge in Northeast Reaches Half Million Acre Milestone

Marvin Moriarty, northeast regional director for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that with the recent purchase of a conservation easement for Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, the National Wildlife Refuge System now protects a half million acres of land in the 13-state Northeast Region.
