FEMA to Sell Katrina Trailers to Occupants
The U. S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that eligible FEMA travel trailer occupants may now purchase their unit. As part of the recent announcement to extend housing assistance past August 31, 2007, FEMA also announced it would begin selling travel trailers to current occupants of these units.

$20 Million Grant to Assist Greensburg Tornado Recovery
The U.S. Department of Labor awarded a $20 million grant, with an initial release of $12 million, to the state of Kansas to create approximately 1,000 temporary jobs for eligible dislocated workers to assist in cleanup and recovery efforts resulting from the May 4 Greensburg tornado.

U.S. Airports Must Expand to Meet Air Travel Demand
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Mary E. Peters said many of the nation’s busiest airports and metropolitan areas — such as Atlanta, Houston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, FL — will require additional capacity, which may include the building of new airports, in the next two decades if they are to address the flood of flyers headed their way.

Despite diverse climates, geography and energy resources, governors across the country are coalescing around a number of "best practice" policy mechanisms when implementing new energy policies in their states, according to a new report released by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center).

New Jail Brings Technology to Visitation
Florida's Walton County jail will offer visitation via a video conferencing system. The jail has created a room filled with 28 stations, whereby guests and inmates can have contact via monitors and speak through a telephone connection.
