According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one of every three buildings has poor indoor air quality (IAQ) that affects the health of occupants. IACP Developing Online Learning Portal for Law Enforcement In an effort to make distance learning more accessible and affordable for law enforcement professionals, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is partnering with Hanover, N.H.-based The Response Network (TRN) to develop and host its first distance learning portal. GSA Appoints Commissioner for Integrated Technology Services In his role as deputy assistant commissioner for ITS, Steven Kempf will administer GSA’s information technology (IT) and telecommunications programs and manage sales of IT products and services through GSA’s IT schedules and government wide acquisition contracts and network services contracts. Energy Department Awards $170 Million Small-Business Contract The Department of Energy (DOE) recently awarded a prime contract for the agency’s Office of Legacy Management to Broomfield, Colo.-based S.M. Stoller Corp. for surveillance and maintenance and technical support at more than 100 of DOE’s legacy sites. The three-year contract that includes an option for a two-year extension is valued at approximately $170 million over the life of the contract. Nevada Awards its First Design/Build Highway Contract As part of Nevada's first design/build highway contract, Englewood, Colo.-based CH2M Hill and Las Vegas Paving Corp. are teaming up as North Corridor Constructors to widen and improve the Interstate 15 north corridor in Las Vegas. GSA Purchases Hybrid Sedans for Federal Fleet To bolster its inventory of fuel-efficient vehicles, the General Services Administration (GSA) recently purchased 55 Saturn Aura Green Line hybrid-electric sedans. According to the agency, the hybrids will be used by the military and six other federal agencies.
